I know that Mom would not want us to be sad. I remember her telling me about how her mother (Grandma Antoinina) would cry over Mom's little brother. Mom would tell her mom, "Don't be sad, he is in heaven with Jesus."
You are right, she was THE BEST. I'm also very thankful we didn't lose her when she was 65 and that God gave us another 18 years! Those were wonderful joy filled years with her! I'm so thankful for her nurturing, loving us and giving us the gift of the knowledge of God and His love, promises, grace, mercy and salvation for us!!
Here I am pictured with the best Mom in the whole world! She was "the meanest mother in the world"; but now I'm glad that she was strict because I have lots of self-discipline. She is my beautiful, Sicilian-Italian, opera-singing Mama! I am one of the luckiest people because she is my Mom. She is with the Lord now, where she's supposed to be. I miss her often but I'm so thankful for the time that I had with her.
I'm glad that you joined. I am having an especially hard time missing mom and I think this website will help especially with family and friends and their grief. One of my friends from church went through a similar experience that we did with mom (serious illness, deterioration) but in only 2 months! Her mom just died today at 4 pm. Her experience seems to have reopened the wounds that had never actually closed anyway. In my head I know mom's better off and gloriously happy, but in my heart I just miss her!
